This new vehicle holds proper wind up door windows as well as door handles. It also has an improved hood design. Is Your Air Filter Filthy?

Posted by Admin in Car price guide

Having your air filter changed at your local garage shop or mechanic could actually cost you so much more than what it would cost you if you did everything yourself. The truth is, changing air filters is easy as counting 1-2-3. And yes, you would be saving yourself some extra pounds.

Of course, you would have to check your cars air filter first. You would have to see if you do need to change it or if the air filter still could do its job properly. To check your air filter, make sure first that your cars engine is cool. You would not want to go checking underneath your cars hood with a still steaming engine underneath. Pop up the hood. Do not forget to prop it up. Then, make sure that you do have the needed materials at hand. For this activity, you would be needing two medium-sized screwdrivers. There should be one standard screwdriver and one Phillips.

How do you find the air filter? Well, the air filter is generally enclosed in a black plastic casing. This plastic casing is located near the center top of the engine. Automobile experts would describe finding the air filter as trying to locate the largest non-metal assembly under the hood. It would be around the size of a breadbox.

When you have already found it, the next part would be opening it. For this part, you would be needing the screwdriver for this box is actually held together by a couple of large metal clips on the side. Simply slide the flat-dead screwdriver between the casing and the clip. Just pry the casing open and you would be able to open it. However, there are some that really have some screws that hold the box together. If this is the case, then unscrew them first.

Once opened, you will find the air filter inside. It comes with the colors bright yellow, orange, or red. Pull the air filter out. You would see that it is flat, elongated, and would measure about a foot long by six inches wide and would have a height of around two inches. It has been crafted from paper filament and has rubber edges along the bottom.

Hold the air filter up and bend it back. Look inside the crevices. Hold it at arms length and look at it. If you see a lot of accumulated dirt and grime, especially mostly in the center of the air filter, it is then time to change it.

Replacement for your air filter could be easily found at Land Rover Parts and Range Rover Parts. They offer other auto parts for Land Rover vehicles like electrical engine parts. Aside from offering quality products, Land Rover Parts and Range Rover Parts also has a great customer service to assist patrons in their various auto parts needs.

Introducing the Dodge Caliber!

Posted by Admin in Car price guide

The auto world is abuzz over a new car just recently released. The Dodge Caliber, a five door hatchback replacement for the popular Neon, has finally hit North American showrooms. The wait has been long especially since the last Neons were built for the 2005 model year. Still, judging by the press hoopla and by what the car has to offer, the pause certainly has been well worth it. Introducing, the 2007 Dodge Caliber!

Part of the buzz surrounding any new car introduction is all the speculation that comes with it. Pictures are released, performance information and specifications supplied, and in some cases the pending model hits the auto show circuit first to fuel additional interest. All of these points have rung true for the Caliber as the pre-release build up was percolating for a number of months. On a personal note, I was able to see a Caliber at a recent car show but I couldnt get near it as there were too many people gawking ahead of me — such was the interest in the new model. Nevertheless, there are some things about the Caliber worthy of a mention:

Rakish good looks Dodges now famous crosshairs grille is the first thing you notice about the Caliber. Take a walk around the car and you will see that some of the same styling cues found in the Magnum were included with the Caliber.

Maximum driveability Prior to the Caliber, to find an all wheel drive version of a car of this size meant that only a Subaru could deliver on that promise. Parent DaimlerChrysler, anticipating that the car would be a world seller, had the presence of mind to offer front wheel drive as standard with all wheel drive as an option.

New powerplants For the first time, a new Chrysler product is available with three different engines. All gasoline powered, the engines range in size from a 1.8L fuel efficient model to a sporty 2.4L engine. No diesels are offered for the North American market just yet, but European Calibers will have that option as they hit the market later this year.

Modern sensibilities The complaint of many new car owners today is that some models are not keeping up with changing times. However, the Caliber adroitly satisfies those issues: a chilled storage bin is available inside of the glove box handy for holding cold drinks and the interior has been designed to have proper capacity for laptops, cell phones, and MP3 players. Additional cubbies as the Dodge sales material calls them, are found throughout the car.

Like the Neon, the Caliber has also been designed to hold five adults. Beyond that, there is absolutely nothing in common between the two models, exactly what DaimlerChrysler had in mind.

Prices for base models are competitive with Toyotas Corolla, but fully loaded all wheel drive versions will market in the same price range as a Camry or a Honda Accord. Therein rests a problem that DaimlerChrysler will have to quickly remedy: offer a second cheaper priced entry level model to bring in young buyers. Fortunately, the latest Dodge Buzz has talk of a Mexican built Scion fighter showing up within the next three years.

Yes, the Caliber certainly is a departure from the Neon, a welcome one at that. Should unit sales match all of the hype, then DaimlerChrysler will truly have a winner on its hands. Heres betting the good money on the Caliber!

Internet Car Auctions Can Take You For A Ride

Posted by Admin in Car price guide

The Internet has provided the public with a useful and convenient tool that makes it easier to do all manner of things than it used to be. One of these things, oddly enough, is the sale of motor vehicles. It seems strange that cars would sell well on the Web, as one would think that buyers would want to “kick the tires” before making a purchase. The success of eBay Motors, AutoTrader and other online sites devoted to the sale of motor vehicles would suggest otherwise, as business at those sites is thriving.

Consumers who wish to purchase a vehicle online should be aware of a popular scam perpetrated by crooks who wish to steal your money the wire transfer scam. The seller offers a vehicle for sale that he or she doesn’t really have; they often just post a stock photo or one they found somewhere. The sellers often indicate that they are located in Europe, and they insist on a wire transfer, such as Western Union, for payment. Once the buyer sends the money, the seller vanishes, never to be heard from again.

This scam has been going on for some time, and most of the online auto auction sites encourage their customers never to pay for a vehicle using a wire transfer, even if the seller promises to use escrow to ensure the safety of the transaction.

Here are a few tips for those people who are shopping for a vehicle online:

# Ask the seller if you can stop by and see the vehicle in person. Someone who doesn’t actually have the vehicle in his or her possession will almost certainly refuse. Even if you have no intention of paying a visit, just asking to see it could be useful.

# Watch out for auctions that feature stock photos or photos from brochures. Anyone with a real car to sell should be able to take a picture of it.

# Beware of any seller who will only accept a wire transfer for payment.

# Beware of a seller who says the vehicle is in another country but offers to pay the shipping to the United States. This is a common ruse used by scammers in other countries.

# Watch out for a vehicle that is offered for sale at a price that seems too inexpensive for the model. A 25,000 car offered for 10,000 should set off bells in your head.

# If on eBay, check the seller’s transaction history to see if they have a record of actually selling vehicles. Scammers sometimes hack into eBay user accounts and sell using the name of another, established user. If the seller is selling a Harley but has a history of only buying compact discs, watch out.

While buying a vehicle through online auction sites is a good way to purchase one, buyers should exercise the same cautions as when they buy anything else on the Internet. If you are buying an expensive item and you are not familiar with the seller, be careful.

Interior Car Floor Mats Are A Must Have For Living

Posted by Admin in Car price guide

Interior Car Floor Mats Are A Must Have For Living In The Northwest

Living in the state of Washington requires driving in all types of weather conditions. Whether I’m driving in rain, slush, snow or its dry and dusty, my vehicle’s interior floor was vulnerable to a quick deterioration if left unprotected. Repeated, everyday use and exposure to the elements a vehicle’s floor will quickly devalue your vehicle’s appearance. Here’s a list of the most common offenders to damaging your vehicle’s interior floor:

- Foot friction wear from the driver and passengers entering and exiting
- Moisture- rain, slush, snow
- Mud and road grime
- Fast food and sticky soda pop that spills
- Shoe grime and crude stuck to your shoe

For maximum protection of my Chevy Suburban’s interior, I accessorized it with custom, form fitting WeatherTech floor liners for the first, second and third rows and a WeatherTech cargo liner for the back. Now every inch of floor space throughout my spacious Suburban is protected.

Before I bought the WeatherTech floor liners and cargo liner products, I wanted to shop to find the best product for my vehicle and my lifestyle. What I discovered while shopping was a vast selection of floor mats, floor liners and cargo liners. There is such a difference between manufacturers, price, materials used and the fit.

For me, living in Washington State with its temperamental weather conditions, l needed all-weather floor liners that would fully protect and shield my vehicle’s OEM carpet. Only after researching all the different types of floor mats available, did I realize carpet floor mats are better suited for drier climates typical of the southern part of the United States. Hence, all floor mats and liners are not all alike and have different features for different climates.

Once I narrowed my search down to finding all weather floor protection products, I could look at the difference between all rubber or high tech poly-based materials – floor mats and floor liners. The difference between a mat and liner isn’t as obvious as it may seem. A floor mat is easily removable and doesn’t cover the whole floor area. Today’s floor liners are digitally, custom molded and shaped to the vehicle’s interior specifications for a quality fit and maximum protection.

For me the choice was easy with kids, Labrador dogs and an active life, I chose to go with floor liners by WeatherTech. The liners fit every exposed inch of my vehicle’s interior floor. The appearance is complementary to my upholstery and dash. Clean up of the floor mats is easy by simply vacuuming and lightly wiping any remaining dirt off with a damp cloth. I am quite satisfied with my purchase of the WeatherTech floor mat and cargo liner and would recommend them to anyone looking for a superior floor protection product.

In-Car DVD Players, a Must for the Car Enthusiast

Posted by Admin in Car price guide

With technology advancing in the automotive industry there are certain perks for the consumer when purchasing a car. One such perk is the in-car DVD player.

Most new cars come with the option of a DVD player and LCD screen, some new cars come with it as standard. Either way its a great feature to have. You can watch DVDs anywhere you go in the comfort of your car.

The LCD screens offer decent picture quality and are a reasonable size. The positioning of the screen and the DVD player differs from car to car. Some cars have the LCD screen sitting just behind the mirror, others have it on the back of the headrest.

The DVDs players can do more than just play DVDs. They play mp3s, CDs so there is no need to double up by having a CD player also.

Most of the DVD players also have a navigation function. This means they have a GPS receiver that shows maps on the LCD screen to allow you to find your way when your lost. This feature is very handy for those long trips down long and dark roads.

Theres no need to be disappointed if your car didnt come with a DVD player. There are plenty of aftermarket solutions to cater for your needs. Some might see getting an aftermarket system advantageous as they can position the DVD player and the LCD screen wherever they wish. But be warned, the aftermarket systems are pretty pricy and may be a little out of your price range.

Although some safety concerns about these in-car entertainment systems have been raised, mainly distraction to the driver, I believe they are totally harmless. They provide a great entertainment solution for the car, they double up as a stereo system and GPS navigation system, and they great to show off to your friends.
